How do these devices help patients with mobility?
How Orthotic Devices Support Movement

Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFOs)
AFOs help stabilise the ankle and foot, making walking safer and more efficient. They can reduce the risk of tripping, support weak muscles, and improve alignment—especially helpful for conditions that affect muscle tone or coordination.

Knee Ankle Foot Orthoses (KAFOs)
KAFOs extend support up to the knee, offering stability for patients with significant leg weakness or joint instability. They help control knee movement, prevent buckling, and allow safer standing and walking, often enabling mobility that wouldn’t be possible otherwise.

Contracture Correction Devices (CCDs)
CCDs gently stretch tight muscles and joints over time. They’re used to manage contractures, where joints become stiff or fixed, helping to maintain or improve range of motion, posture, and comfort. This can make everyday activities like sitting, standing, or transferring easier.
