On Monday, 14th July, Woods Orthotics partnered with Run 3D to deliver a cutting-edge gait analysis event at the elegant Coach House Fitness Gym in Oswestry. Run 3D’s platform—developed by Oxford University scientists—uses Vicon infrared cameras and advanced musculoskeletal modeling to bring lab-level biomechanical assessment into real-world clinical settings.

Precision Assessment in a Community Setting

The cardio room was transformed into a high-tech motion analysis space, with arched windows providing natural charm and thoughtful adaptations ensuring optimal camera performance. Clients of all ages received personalised assessments, including anatomical marker placement, detailed 3D gait analysis, and musculoskeletal testing to uncover hidden biomechanical patterns that traditional methods may miss.

 Expert Collaboration for Better Outcomes

Run 3D’s Sports Science expert, Ken, led the assessments alongside our co-founder and orthotist, Tom Woods, offering tailored orthotic insights. Each client received a comprehensive report with recommendations—highlighting our commitment to data-driven, patient-centred care.

Community, Curiosity, and Next Steps

The gym remained open during the event, sparking conversations with curious members and giving coaches a deeper understanding of running mechanics and injury prevention. A rewarding day for everyone—and just the beginning for advanced gait technology in Oswestry.
